What is Chabad on Campus?

Chabad on Campus is a network of Chabad Houses on and near more than 950 college campuses around the world, where Jewish students of every background can find a home away from home.

Each Chabad House is directed by a husband and wife, known as shluchim, emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson. They move to a college town, open their home to students, and build Jewish life around them: Shabbat dinners, holidays, classes, trips and a lot of personal attention. Research on Chabad on Campus has found that almost 90 percent of participants do not come from Orthodox homes.

Stronger together

Every Chabad House in Florida has its own personality, shaped by a rabbi and rebbetzin who know their campus and their students best.

Through Chabad on Campus Florida, those Chabad Houses share ideas, bring students from every campus together at the Florida Pegisha, and make it easy for every Jewish student in the state to find a home away from home.

We champion robust Jewish life and learning on college campuses in Florida, and seek a future where every Jewish student has a deeper affinity, connection and understanding of their faith, heritage and identity.

What we do together

Florida’s Chabad Houses team up through Chabad on Campus Florida to run shared projects like the Florida Pegisha, and to make it easy for every student and parent to find Jewish life at their school.

How we do it

Every Chabad House is led by a husband and wife who open their home to students. No dues, no membership and no judgment, just a warm table and people who care.

Since the 1950s

1950sThe Lubavitcher Rebbe begins reaching out to college campuses, sending rabbinical students to serve Jewish students.
1969Chabad opens its first campus center at UCLA, welcoming every Jewish student regardless of background.
TodayChabad Houses serve students on more than 950 campuses worldwide, including 25 in Florida.
